Biswas said, “The cyclone reached Puri coast at around 8 am in the morning and the process of reaching the cyclone will take about three hours to complete.” Biswas said that the center of the cyclone is about 28 kilometers away and it is growing at a speed of 30 kilometers per hour. Wind is running at 175 kilometers per hour in Puri and the surrounding areas which can reach 200 kmph.

He said that 11 lakh people removed from nearly 10,000 villages and 52 urban areas have been accommodated in 4,000 camps, out of which 880 centers specifically designed for cyclone are included. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has appealed people to stay in homes during the cyclone and said that all arrangements have been made for the safety of the people.

1. Exit as far as possible from home. Keep all the necessary things in the home with flashlight, ropes, essential medicines and drinking water.
2. Keep the food items safe in one place as the storm may stop for a few hours after the storm.
3. If you are out of the house then take shelter in a permanent house if the weather is bad and do not leave the weather completely.
4. The trees do not stand near the pillar of the light when the weather is bad.
5. If you are driving a car, then try to move to a safe place. Do not stay on the bridge altogether and open all the glasses of the car.
6. Turn off all electrical appliances in the house and do not burn the fire at all.
